Hey, friend! Oaks here.

I've mastered the art of being useful without fuss—potty trained, car ready, kid-tested with six—and I promise my protective nature improves dramatically once you stop being a stranger.

I'm the calm one (it's in writing). A quiet home and a patient hand and I'm yours.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.

I've been holding down the fort in Bandera, hoping someone like you would wander by.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

With a little luck, Labor Day could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.

Anyway, thank you for reading all the way to the end. Not everyone does, and I noticed. — Oaks

About Oaks

Oaks is a 1.5-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer and German Shepherd mix weighing about 48 pounds. He is neutered, healthy, and up to date on vaccinations. Oaks is potty trained, doggy door trained, and rides well in cars; he has lived successfully with six children (ages 2 and up) and six other dogs. He is smart and laid-back with a deep bond to his family, though he is somewhat timid with strangers. Oaks is naturally protective and would do well with a family where children are 8 or older; he would be an excellent walking or jogging companion given his athletic build and moderate shedding coat.
