Hi there! Oreo here.

I'm learning that life's best moments happen pressed against you on a couch, punctuated by strategic naps and the occasional treat-sniffing mission.

Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I've been holding down the fort in Brooklyn, hoping someone like you would wander by.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

With a little luck, Halloween could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.

Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Oreo

About Oreo

Oreo is a 9 month old, 34 pound hound/Australian Shepherd mix who is spayed, fully vetted, and ready to find her forever person. She is still very much a baby and is learning about the world, building confidence, and getting love wherever she can get it. Oreo is affectionate to her core and happiest when she's being held or is right next to her human. She'll gladly sit tucked between your legs at a coffee shop, ride cozy in a bag or stroller, or nestle with you on the couch. She loves snuffle mats and sniffing out hidden treats like the little hound she is, crunching on ice cubes, and giving LOTS of kisses. Her energy is moderate puppy energy; she can be playful and bouncy, but she settles well too. She's currently healing from a leg injury, so she's enjoying low-impact activity while she continues to recover like the champ she is. Like many young pups, Oreo is still learning. She's working on leash manners, confidence around loud noises, and continued training around food boundaries. She's smart, eager to please, and thrives with consistency and clear guidance. Oreo LOVES people and attention. Because she can guard food and prefers being the center of attention, she may do best as the only dog in the home, or with an experienced adopter committed to structure and training. She would flourish in a home where someone wants a loyal, devoted shadow and best friend! Oreo is still just a baby with so much love to give, please adopt her at rescuecity.nyc/adopt
