Oh, hello you! Opal here.
I'm learning that the world is vast and occasionally manageable, especially with a calm friend by my side and plenty of quiet corners to retreat to.
I'm the calm one (it's in writing). A quiet home and a patient hand and I'm yours.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Blacksburg.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Labor Day — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Anyway, thank you for reading all the way to the end. Not everyone does, and I noticed. — Opal

About Opal
**Please take a moment to read the bio in full before reaching out—this helps us respond quickly and efficiently. Opal must have another dog and a fenced yard in her new home. No exceptions.** Meet Opal! Breed: moyen poodle. Age: est 4 years. Weight: approx 30lbs. Training: crate trained, we are working on house and leash training. She will need continued training as she hasn't had many life experiences. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes. She loves other dogs and is fine with cats. Good with adults/kids? Opal is reserved/timid with new people. Personality: reserved/shy. Opal spent the first 4 years of her life with a breeder. She has had a sheltered life until her rescue. She has come so far, but will need continued guidance and socialization to help her become the wonderful companion we know she can be! Opal has never known life without another dog around, and we feel she needs a confident canine companion to teach her how to be a pet. She also needs a fenced yard. Reason for rescue: breeder release, retiring. Opal is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. If interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $250. Please note: With limited foster homes and many dogs waiting for rescue, we are unable to place dogs on hold. Approved adopters must be ready to move forward. We welcome out-of-state adopters but do not offer transport, and an in-person meet and greet before adoption at the foster’s home is required. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue pet!
