Hi, I’m Man O’ War! I’m a 2.5-year-old Cattle Dog/Pit Bull mix with a sensitive heart and a lot of love to give. I was recently returned to the county shelter, but thankfully, ATR was notified and welcomed me back with open arms. While I can be a little cautious around new people, once I trust you, I’m a total sweetheart who lives for cuddles, belly rubs, playtime, and being close to my favorite humans. I’m also an active guy who enjoys getting out and having fun, so I’m looking for a family that can match my energy and help me feel safe and understood.Because I can be nervous with strangers and have some handling sensitivities, I need an experienced adopter who understands canine body language and will respect my boundaries while helping me build confidence. I can become distressed when left alone and may be quite vocal, so a home with a yard is strongly recommended, and apartment or multi-unit living may not be the best fit for me. I’m also selective about my dog friends and would do best without reactive, pushy, or overly corrective dogs in the home. If you’re patient, knowledgeable, and willing to earn my trust, you’ll discover a loyal best friend who loves deeply and is just looking for a place to belong.
