Well, hello! Pogo here.

I was born a little different, but I'm learning that means I just need someone patient and kind to help me discover what home feels like.

My notes say I'm a world-class cuddler, and I'd like that on the record.

I'm a youngster — a little goofy, very teachable, and absolutely ready to grow up beside someone wonderful.

Born and (almost) raised right here in Seattle.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Halloween — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.

Thanks for stopping by and giving me a moment — it honestly made my whole day. — Pogo

About Pogo

Animal Information: Pogo got his name because of the things that make him a little different. Pogo was born with deformed front legs. He's estimated to be around 10 months old and was living on a property in Yakima with more than 30 other dogs. Our rescue partners were in the area for a spay and neuter clinic when Pogo and his brother Skip were brought in. Without rescue placement, they would have been altered and released simply because there is not enough space in their local shelter. We knew we could help, so Pogo and Skip are now making their way across the state to Dog Gone Seattle. Despite never having been inside a home, both boys are able to be handled. They are shy and understandably unsure of the world, but they are incredibly sweet. They are going to need plenty of patience, TLC and someone willing to give them the time they need to learn what it means to be a dog in a home. These boys have spent their lives simply surviving. Now they get the chance to thrive. Foster Profile: Calling all 3.5 legged dog lovers! Pogo might be a little different but he doesn't let that get in his way. He is a very sweet affectionate little guy just looking for a lap to snuggle in. He is house trained and crate trained and very food motivated making him easy to train. He doesn't not seem to have high prey drive so would likely do well in a home with a cat. He loves kids, currently temp fostered in a home with a 3 year old human and loves the attention from him as well as not scared by the chaos of a toddler. He takes a minute to warm up to new dogs but once they are in his inner circle he's very happy to have a canine buddy. Being a tripod he hops round but gets around fine. He is low energy and gets tired out by short walks so would be a good companion for someone looking for a low key dog. He is real sweetheart just looking for a second chance! Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, heartworm test if indicated, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).
