About Hunter #3
Hunter is an 8-year-old Chihuahua-Beagle mix weighing 24 pounds who is sweet, calm, and playful. He loves belly rubs, snuggling, and short walks on leash, and enjoys 15–30 minutes of activity once or twice a day before settling down to relax. Hunter gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes and does well with cats, though he may initially chase one that runs; he has not met children but would likely do best with older children who understand canine boundaries. Hunter came from a hoarding situation and is still learning to trust people, so he needs a patient, calm adopter who respects his boundaries, lets him approach on his own terms, and avoids reaching over, picking up, or physically restraining him, as he may nip or bite when frightened—he is food motivated and responds well to praise and affection when ready. He is making progress with house training and uses a doggy door reliably, though he still has some marking issues that his foster hopes will improve following his recent neuter; he is learning to love his crate and wears a belly band currently.
