Hi there! ANNA here.

I'm all sharp eyes and quick reflexes by day, but come sunset, I'm basically a furry zen boulder on your couch—alert enough to notice everything, chill enough not to stress about it.

Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.

Born and (almost) raised right here in Dedham.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Halloween — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.

Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — ANNA

About ANNA

MEET ANNA! - I am in a foster home, please contact the shelter to meet me! Anna is a gorgeous combination of a doe and a shepherd: alert, bright, agile, and food driven. A wonderful companion for experienced dog people and/or a family with teens. In the morning, grab your coffee, a bucket of balls, and gear up to practice your pitches in your fenced in yard, she is an expert catcher. Be sure to alternate your arms so your muscles stay symmetrical. If you run back into the house for more coffee and take too long, she will cleverly open the screen door to make sure you get an extra big cup. Fill up your fanny pack with treats and lace up your hikers for sniff walks in the woods or on quiet roads. She is nervous around new people she meets along the way and likes her space. While she is reactive toward other dogs when on walks, she has had success meeting and playing with one dog in a supervised, contained, setting. Don’t worry, she is wonderfully cuddly, playful, and house-trained. She will curl up in a quiet spot in your home and enjoy music, sound machines, and the low hum of fans or air conditioners. She’ll sense when you’re stressed while watching an intense show and will check on you to ensure you’re okay. Sometimes she’ll lean in further to get as close to you as possible to help your body regulate. Anna has been with two long-term foster volunteers and they are looking forward to supporting her success in her loving home. Anna is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team.We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY however, we are unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements. For more information on this or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston please visit us during our adoption center hours: Wednesdays-Sundays from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, Tuesdays by appointment only from 1:00PM – 6:00PM, closed Mondays & Holidays. For information about our adoption process click here
