Hi, new friend! BOSCO here.

I've weathered a few plot twists, but I'm ready for the final chapter—one where I stay put with people who actually mean it.

I'm the calm one (it's in writing). A quiet home and a patient hand and I'm yours.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I've been holding down the fort in Statesville, hoping someone like you would wander by.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

With a little luck, Halloween could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.

Anyway, thank you for reading all the way to the end. Not everyone does, and I noticed. — BOSCO

About BOSCO

Meet Sweet Bosco!Bosco’s finder contacted our officer letting them know that he was likely dropped off, appearing in their front yard. He was chipped and when the owner was contacted, it was learned that Bosco had been rehomed. Our officers searched for the new owner, given the information provided but was unable to locate. With all that behind him, we are going to focus on helping Bosco to find the family who will keep him safe and loved with them forever! He met a similar size spayed female and was SUPER tolerant of his new friend who was highly intrusive of his personal space bubble. He allowed her to sniff him all over and when he tried to return the favor, his new friend corrected him, letting him know she can but he can’t. He took this correction like such a gentleman! He has done great for all of his exams and is such a sweet boy! He can be a little nervous at first, but this sweetheart warms up so quickly! And he LOVES food, too! Please come and meet this super sweet and friendly boy in person here at the shelter to see if he is meant to spend forever with your family! We are a first come, first served and in person adoption center. We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all, also! We don’t know how he does with cats and have no way to test for that. All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family member’s health and wellness. If you can’t promise forever, please consider waiting to adopt until you can!! And always check with your housing management to make sure you are able to have a pet, before you bring one home! Returning a dog to a shelter after they have been adopted out for any length of time, is truly stressful for them! And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet. 3 days for your new pet to decompress3 weeks for your new family member to settle in3 months for them to build trustBosco’s adoption fee is $20 through end of day September 12, 2026. Please bring a collar and leash OR purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home. We are located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville, NC. We are open for adoptions Monday-Friday 12-5pm and Saturdays 11am-2pm.
