About Calaya Kali
Meet Calaya Kali (Cali)! Cali is a beautiful Shepherd mix with the sweetest soul and the gentlest heart. Born in rescue on February 3, 2021, she was adopted at six months old and recently found herself back in rescue after five years through absolutely no fault of her own. While the transition has been difficult, Cali has shown us just how much love she has to give. This lovely girl is fully house trained and gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and kids. She's a little shy when meeting new people, but once she feels safe, her affectionate personality shines. Cali's favorite place to be is right next to her people. She loves sleeping at the foot of her foster mom's bed and has a charming habit of sitting on her foster mom's feet before slowly melting into her lap. She's also an equal-opportunity snuggler and happily seeks out foster dad for extra scritches whenever they're available. Cali's affection is as gentle as she is. Expect soft kisses, sweet little nibs of love, and a loyal shadow who always wants to keep her humans in sight. She doesn't enjoy being separated from her people and feels happiest when she knows her family is nearby. While many dogs dream of long walks, Cali would rather skip them. The sights and sounds of the outside world can be overwhelming for her, and loud or unexpected noises are especially scary. She's much more interested in spending quality time indoors with her favorite humans. As she's settled into foster care, she's even begun to play with the resident dog, showing that her confidence continues to grow. Cali does have allergies that are well-managed with daily medication and a limited-ingredient diet. She's feeling great on her current routine, but there's one important rule: no cheese, please! If you're looking for a devoted best friend who wants nothing more than to stay close, share quiet moments, and love you with her whole heart, Cali may be your perfect match.
