Hi there! Xena here.

I chase the zoomies when they call, then sleep like I invented napping—just need my people and another dog nearby, a harness walk, and a calm crew who get that I'm worth the patience.

They wrote that I love to play. Understatement. I'd hike, fetch, and nap with you, in that order.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.

I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that scare you off — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

I'm a Alvin local, just waiting on the right person.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

Who knows — by Labor Day I might be napping on somebody's couch. I'd love it to be near you, one way or another.

Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Xena

Special needs: Has seizures if she gets too excited

About Xena

Xena is a Border Collie and Rhodesian Ridgeback mix born in July 2021 with a tri-colored coat and a breed-true personality. She is an active dog who thrives with other dogs in the home and needs room to run and explore; she enjoys long walks, vehicle rides, and playing fetch, though she struggles to release toys during play. Xena does well on a leash with a harness (not a collar), knows basic commands like "stay," "no," and "potty," and will bark at strangers until she becomes familiar with them. She has special needs: she experiences seizures when overstimulated, attributed to a childhood head injury, and requires a home where she can be around her family most of the time, as she does not do well in kennels or crates and feels most secure sleeping near her people and other dogs.
