Breed
Afternoon, friend! Athena here.
I'm a 65-pound fluffball who spent months convincing everyone I was a street philosopher, then became a mom, then decided that was enough drama for one year.
My notes call me gentle and a little shy — I warm up fast once I trust you, though.
I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.
I've been holding down the fort in Bandera, hoping someone like you would wander by.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
With a little luck, Halloween could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.
Thanks for spending a minute with me. I'll be right here, tail ready, hoping it's you. — Athena

About Athena
Athena is a 12-month-old Great Pyrenees mix weighing about 65 pounds. She was found roaming the streets and has since given birth to puppies, all of whom have been adopted. Athena is a gentle, well-mannered dog who gets along well with other dogs and is good with children 8 and older; she would do well as a companion to another dog or as an only dog. She will need a fenced yard, as this breed is known to roam, and she is still learning leash walking skills. Her long coat makes her well-suited to colder climates, and she embodies the protective nature typical of Great Pyrenees guardian dogs.
