Breed

Hi, new friend! TUGBOAT here.

I'm a 65-pound lap dog who knows life's greatest skill is the perfect nap, though I'll need patience, exercise, and a patient soul—preferably without cats or rushed introductions.

Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.

Born and (almost) raised right here in Chandler.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Halloween — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.

Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — TUGBOAT

About TUGBOAT

Tugboat is a roughly 4-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier who is crate trained, house trained, and full of personality. He is incredibly loving with people he trusts, enjoys cuddles and affection, and believes he's a lap dog despite his 65-pound size. Tugboat has a protective personality and feels more comfortable around women; he becomes anxious around men and will do best with a patient owner who can give him time to build trust. He is moderate-to-high energy and needs an active home with regular exercise, structure, and attention. Tugboat cannot live with cats. He can be reactive toward dogs on leash, though he has never gotten into a fight, and will do best with an experienced handler who understands dog reactivity. Small dogs may be possible with an extremely slow and structured introduction—he has successfully integrated with a Bichon in his current foster home after about six months. He does well with dog-savvy teenagers but has never done well around small children. In the right home, Tugboat is a goofy, cuddly, and loyal companion.
