Prefers to be the only dog · Best in a cat-free home

Hi there! Mrs. Moose here.

I won't fib — I've got a little grey on my muzzle. But being older just means I'm past the wild puppy stuff and all about cozy company and slow, happy mornings.

I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.

I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Mrs. Moose 🐾

The rescue’s notes on Mrs. Moose

Meet Moose! Moose is a sweet, devoted, and energetic girl who loves attention, pets, and playtime. She is incredibly smart and driven, picking up new cues, tricks, and commands quickly. Moose enjoys chasing balls (just be ready to trade for them!), chewing toys, running around, and doing zoomies. She is vocal when she needs to go outside and even jumps like a little kangaroo when she's excited. Her ideal home will give her plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep her happy and healthy. Outside the home, Moose is confident and friendly, especially on walks, and she is non-aggressive in these settings. She has a lovable, affectionate side and gives lots of kisses and smiles to those she trusts. Here's a sweet video of Mrs. Moose. Moose does best in a calm, quiet home where she is the only pet and there are no young children. She can be selective with people and other animals inside the home, she may be wary of new visitors, especially if they move quickly. With patience, slow introductions, and positive reinforcement, she can learn to accept new people. Moose has come a long way in overcoming fear, but her ideal adopters will continue to provide gentle training and understanding of her needs. Adopting a senior dog is like getting a vintage car – it comes with character, a few extra quirks, and might need a bit more maintenance. Expect occasional tune ups at the vet for oil changes (aka meds), and embrace the fact that those 'normal lumps and bumps' are just part of the well-earned charm package! Ruff Start will share all known health information with adopters and recommendations to keep your Senior dog in top shape. Mrs. Moose is from a local shelter. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
