Psst… hi! Zuzu here.
I was built to run, point, and lean on you like a 50-pound shadow.
My notes say I'm a world-class cuddler, and I'd like that on the record.
I'm a youngster — a little goofy, very teachable, and absolutely ready to grow up beside someone wonderful.
I've been holding down the fort in Seattle, hoping someone like you would wander by.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
With a little luck, Thanksgiving could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.
Thanks for stopping by and giving me a moment — it honestly made my whole day. — Zuzu

About Zuzu
Animal Profile: Zuzu is a 2-year-old mixed breed who originally joined our rescue from Louisiana through Taillights Rescue Project. She was listed as a Weimaraner mix, but we think she's just a pretty bully girl. Zuzu has been staying at our Community Center while learning the ropes of good canine behavior and she is now crate trained, treadmill trained, and has developed a love for play -- fetch and especially tug. Through play she has also learned very solid obedience and is fluent with sit, down, come to heel and recall. She is working on her leash manners especially around distractions. Zuzu is a very smart dog, affectionate and very sweet with an off switch, but she does need a good amount of intentional interaction a day to feel fulfilled. Zuzu does love other dogs but she has a rough and rowdy play style so would need to be appropriately matched with a canine companion. She would not likely be well matched in a home with cats. Zuzu would thrive in an active home with power breed experience that understands the importance of leadership, and providing appropriate outlets for drive. She's a fun dog who has a lot to offer the right home, and we're excited to help her find her family. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue. Trial Adoption: Zuzu is available through our partnership with STIC K9 Collective which includes a one-month transition period and adoption finalized after thirty days. In-person training with STICK9 is provided during the trial period to ensure successful placement. After several weeks in foster care, she was adopted as a juvenile (appx 7 months old). She was returned to the rescue almost a year later in August 2026 due to anxiety (dog and human) and associated behavior issues (nipping, reactivity, crate refusal, etc.) Zuzu has been weaned off medications and received extensive training since return and has developed a love for play (fetch and tug), learned obedience including sit, down, heel, recall, crate, and has developed a joy for life. She is now available for adoption in the greater Seattle area.
