Hi, new friend! Almondie here.
I've spent seven years collecting wisdom and one good eye, and I can confirm that life's best moments involve a car ride, your hand on my head, and knowing exactly where my next meal comes from.
Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.
I won't fib — there's a little grey on my muzzle. "Older" just means I'm past the wild puppy chaos and all in on cozy company.
I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.
I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that scare you off — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

Special needs: [GREEN]Right at door on approach, ate treats in kennel, easy to leash. Pulls moderately outside, eliminated twice immediately. Dog likely holds it. Knows sit and takes treats gently. Lures into a down. Very affiliative with handler, climbed into lap, ran zoomies around KC yard. Showed interest in toys but no play. Allows all over touch, head, ears, hind, belly, and teeth check. About Almondie
Almondie is a 7-year-old, 51-pound pittie mix with a joyful spirit and a zest for life. This sweet, wiggly girl arrived at the shelter with an injured eye and badly irritated skin. The eye was removed, and her skin condition has vastly improved with diet and care thanks to her loving foster home. While she's technically a senior, Almondie has pep in her step and is always ready for an adventure. She loves car rides, walks, and hikes. She thrives with regular exercise and enrichment, is house-trained, and can relax at home by herself during your full workday. A true people-lover, Almondie leans in for pets, shares hugs, and seeks lap time. She's incredibly food-motivated and loves training, showing off skills like sit, shake, down, stay, spin, touch, and place. On leash, Almondie walks well but prefers space away from other dogs. She may do best as a solo dog or with a carefully matched canine companion. Almondie moves through the world with a tail that never stops wagging.
