Special needs: [GREEN]Right at door on approach, ate treats in kennel, easy to leash. Pulls moderately outside, eliminated twice immediately. Dog likely holds it. Knows sit and takes treats gently. Lures into a down. Very affiliative with handler, climbed into lap, ran zoomies around KC yard. Showed interest in toys but no play. Allows all over touch, head, ears, hind, belly, and teeth check. I won't fib — I've got a little grey on my muzzle. But being older just means I'm past the wild puppy stuff and all about cozy company and slow, happy mornings.
I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.
I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that worry you — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

Almondie is a 7-year-old, 51-pound pittie mix with a joyful spirit and a zest for life. This sweet, wiggly girl arrived at the shelter with an injured eye and badly irritated skin. The eye was removed, and her skin condition has vastly improved with diet and care thanks to her loving foster home. While she's technically a senior, Almondie has pep in her step and is always ready for an adventure. She loves car rides, walks, and hikes. She thrives with regular exercise and enrichment, is house-trained, and can relax at home by herself during your full workday. A true people-lover, Almondie leans in for pets, shares hugs, and seeks lap time. She's incredibly food-motivated and loves training, showing off skills like sit, shake, down, stay, spin, touch, and place. On leash, Almondie walks well but prefers space away from other dogs. She may do best as a solo dog or with a carefully matched canine companion. Almondie moves through the world with a tail that never stops wagging.
