He has worked with a professional trainer to address guarding behaviors and has made significant progress learning commands like "leave it"; he is social with people, loves attention, enjoys daily walks and outdoor play, and responds well to food-motivated training. Luke does best in a quieter home with a fenced yard and needs an experienced dachshund owner who can continue his training—he is wary of strangers, does not do well with large dogs, and requires a muzzle for nail trimming at the vet. He can live as an only dog or with another small, calm adult dog, and the home must have only adult children (14 years and older).
