Meet Gunner, an 89 lb bundle of love who will fill your home with warmth. At 7 years old, Gunner is a gentle senior with the most soulful puppy-dog eyes and a heart that's ready to love deeply. Saved from the deep south of Georgia, where life hadn't always been kind, he probably didn't know where his last meal was coming from. Gunner is very food motivated. His foster family has been working on him staying out of the kitchen and observing the food prep from a far. Gunner is perfectly fine waiting for the family to finish up in the kitchen, while waiting patiently without any barking or fuss. His foster family has watched the sparkle return to his eyes, the pep come back to his step, and his tail wag with growing joy. Gunner is friendly with everyone he meets, gets along well with other dogs, and has that calm, steady presence that makes senior dogs so special. He's leash trained, and house trained just an all-around great dog. Relaxing at home? He'll settle nearby, perfectly content just being close to his people. Gunner prefers staying on the main level in a home where he can relax on the couch or floor, even if the humans are elsewhere. Gunner also enjoys a good walk and strolls beautifully on leash. He is a wonderful dog who thrives with a little guidance and routine, and in return, you get a loyal, loving best friend. Gunner is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
