Well, hello! Doug Athens here.
I'm a 55-pound bundle of gentle affection who just wants to give you hugs and sit close while you pet me, forever.
My notes say I'm a world-class cuddler, and I'd like that on the record.
I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Rockaway.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Thanksgiving — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Thanks for stopping by and giving me a moment — it honestly made my whole day. — Doug Athens

About Doug Athens
**** SPONSORED ADOPTION FEE **** Doug is an adorable mixed-breed boy with the softest soul to match his soft coat. Two years old and around 55 lbs, Doug is the perfect medium-sized companion with a calm, good-natured personality. This sweet guy is known for giving hugs and absolutely lives for affection—pets, cuddles, and attention are his love language. Doug truly loves people, making him a wonderful fit for a social home or an active family looking for a gentle, loving companion. Doug does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but he is still learning appropriate doggie manners. When playing, he can sometimes get a little over-enthusiastic and may not always recognize when another dog needs a break. He is also still learning how to respond appropriately to corrections from other dogs, and on occasion, play may need to be paused so everyone can settle. Doug is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines, and he's ready to settle into a forever home where he can share his affection (and hugs!) every day. Doug's adoption fee is sponsored by one of our wonderful supporters!! Apply for Doug Athens at EHRDOGS.ORG
