Best in a cat-free home

Oh — hi! Squeak here.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and a few zoomies) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.

I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Squeak 🐾

The rescue’s notes on Squeak

Meet Squeak ~ Squeak is a goofy, affectionate young pup who has truly blossomed since leaving the shelter. While she may have seemed timid at first, once she realized freedom was involved, her personality came out fast—during the hour-plus car ride home she became a total velcro pup, and she's continued to warm up beautifully as she settles into home life. She's learning her manners and making steady progress every day. Squeak is figuring out that sitting politely is the best way to get attention (jumping is so last week), and she responds especially well to happy voices and gentle guidance. She's food-motivated, takes treats very nicely for her age, and is eager to please. She's already learning "sit," beginning to understand "down," and is working on keeping all four paws on the floor. Squeak is a champion cuddle bug who loves being close to her people—sometimes very close—and will even use her paws to "hug" you back. She adores ear rubs, smooches, and being held. Affectionately nicknamed the "Allie-Gator," she shows her happiness with playful toothy grins and gentle nibble-nibbles, especially when she's winding down for a nap. She's already learning bite inhibition and responds well to a calm "ouch" if play gets a little too enthusiastic. She loves toys and has invented her own version of fetch, which often turns into a silly game of keep-away. Here's a sweet video of her playing tug. Crate training and potty training are works in progress but coming along nicely—she's learning to potty closer to the door and does best with frequent outdoor breaks and structure. On leash, she pulls a bit, but it's mild and very workable with continued training. Squeak can be cautious around strangers, particularly men or people in outdoor clothing, but she does well when allowed to approach at her own pace. She's shown positive, playful body language with other dogs and enjoys play bows and front-paw pouncing to invite interaction. Still very much a puppy, Squeak is sweet, loving, and full of potential. She would do best in a home without small animals, including cats or small children. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, she's going to grow into a loyal, affectionate, delightfully goofy companion whose future is only getting brighter. Squeak is from a local impound.
