Evening, friend! Ruthie here.
Don't let the blocky head fool you: I'm 90% wiggle and 100% lap dog.
I'm the calm one (it's in writing). A quiet home and a patient hand and I'm yours.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Sussex.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Thanksgiving — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Ruthie

About Ruthie
Ruthie is a 2-year-old, 60-pound Boxer mix who spent at least six months surviving on her own in an industrial area before coming into rescue. She is fully house-trained, gentle, and has never shown aggression, though she remains shy and cautious with people. Ruthie is highly intelligent and observant, and she is slowly learning to trust human touch through patient, gentle interaction. Ruthie gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes and temperaments and is calm and content both indoors and at the dog park. Because of her history as a flight-risk dog, she requires an experienced adopter with a securely fenced yard, willingness to use safety tools like GPS collars and double leashes, and the strength and confidence to handle a 60-pound dog. With patience, structure, and time, Ruthie has the potential to become a deeply loyal and special companion.
