The rescue’s notes on Vanilla

Meet Vanilla — a gentle cuddlebug ready for his second chance. Vanilla is a 5-year-old, 50-pound sweetheart with soft eyes, a soft white coat, and an even softer spirit. He's a calm, homebody type who doesn't need much beyond a cozy couch, a quiet home, and someone to love. Short walks, relaxed car rides, and plenty of couch time are his idea of a perfect day. Once he trusts you, he's all-in for belly rubs and snuggles. Vanilla came into the shelter in heartbreaking condition — underweight, sick, and struggling with multiple health issues. With the help of a devoted foster, he has made an incredible recovery. He's completed heartworm treatment, gained weight, and is learning that the world can be safe and kind. He can be shy at first, but blossoms with patience and gentle handling. He does well with calm, respectful dogs after slow introductions and prefers a peaceful, "live and let live" lifestyle. He is crate trained, housetrained, and walks nicely on leash. No cats for this boy, and he'd do best with adults or older, considerate kids. Vanilla doesn't ask for much — just safety, softness, and someone who will finally give him the steady love he's always deserved.
