Meet Kenny — a sensitive soul looking for the right safe place to land! Kenny is a 2-year-old, 30-pound sweetheart who has come an incredibly long way since being rescued. Though he likely never lived in a home before, but he's worked hard learning how to be part of a family — and he's blossomed into a playful, affectionate companion who loves hiking, running, fetch, and curling up on the couch for cuddles. Kenny is housetrained, walks beautifully on leash, learns quickly, and already knows commands like sit, down, leave it, off, under, and back up. He's eager to please and truly enjoys training and engaging with his people. He also does wonderfully with other dogs at daycare and absolutely loves his cat companions. Kenny's ideal home will be a female-only household. While he is loving and relaxed with his female owner and friendly with men outside the home, he becomes fearful and distressed around the male owner inside the home environment. Because of this, Kenny needs a calm, patient home where he can feel fully safe and secure without fear triggers. He would likely do best with older, respectful kids and other pets to help him feel comfortable and confident. He can be vocal at times, so apartment living may not be the best fit. Kenny also experiences kennel stress, so he should not be crated. Kenny is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and heartworm negative. Most of all, he's looking for someone willing to give a sensitive dog the understanding and stability he deserves.
