Oh — hi! Tootsie here.
I'm a little bit of everything, which means I'm a little bit perfect for someone.
My notes call me gentle and a little shy — I warm up fast once I trust you, though.
I'm a youngster — a little goofy, very teachable, and absolutely ready to grow up beside someone wonderful.
I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Buffalo.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Thanksgiving — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Thanks for stopping by and giving me a moment — it honestly made my whole day. — Tootsie

About Tootsie
Meet Tootsie! Tootsie is a stunning cropped and docked purebred Doberman girl, somewhere between 1 and 3 years young. Her birth certificate is missing, so we're calling her "forever young." Her early chapters were rough. She survived on the streets of Los Angeles, was picked up by the dog catcher, and then spent over two months in a loud LA shelter where the barking never stopped. For a sensitive Doberman, that was a lot. But she made it, and now she gets to find out what a good life feels like. And she is blossoming! In foster care, Tootsie has picked her one person: her foster mom. Where mom goes, Tootsie follows, and she keeps one eye on her at all times. Trust is a brave thing to learn, and every little step forward is a win for Tootsie. Tootsie is great with the resident cats, dogs and even horses! A few fun facts about Tootsie: She loves her crate. It's her cozy little studio apartment, and sometimes she needs a gentle "hey, come join the party" to venture out. We think that's perfectly reasonable, because who doesn't love a good safe space? She is fully potty trained. Star student! She is fully vetted and spayed. Her best pal was a tiny Yorkie. Yes, shes great with little dogs and even cats! It is adorable. Loud surprises like car horns, sirens, and bangs make her world spin, so calm and cozy is her love language. She will need a home that understands fear responses in dogs and can work with building trust. Tootsie's dream home has: A high, secure fenced yard, because this girl is a serious flight risk and could probably star in her own escape movie. A GPS collar for extra peace of mind. She will come with one from the rescue. She is also microchipped:) A friendly canine buddy to be her forever pal and guide, because Tootsie is a dog's dog and a home with other dogs is a must. Lots of patience and love for her healing and bonding journey. We aren't giving up on this girl, and one day she will have a family to call her own. Could it be you? A family with expereince with this breed preferred, fenced yard and other canines for doggy support. Yes Tootsie will benefit from having her own personal support animal:) Please read our adoption policy, and if you qualify, apply at www.uniteddobermanrescue.org
