About Zoey

Animal Information: Zoey is a 6 year old, 60 pound German Shepherd mix in need of a new home. She was adopted from Kitsap Humane Society three years ago and has been waiting over a year to be rehomed. Her current owner is moving due to health reasons, and Zoey is now confined to a crate most of the day with only brief breaks. She has lived with a cat, but her limited time outside the crate makes it unclear how well she is fully integrated. Zoey is house trained, crate trained, and has basic obedience skills. She is dog friendly. She is social with people and seeks out attention. Foster Profile: This girl is an absolute delight—sweet, a little goofy, and whip-smart, with the kind of personality that makes her instantly lovable. She's equally happy chasing a frisbee, running after a ball, or hitting the trail for a good walk, and then just as content to curl up next to you in full snuggle mode with her dinosaur stuffy in tow, always (she has one very special toy that goes everywhere with her, and yes, it's exactly as cute as it sounds). She's a total water baby, and lights up at any chance to hit the beach and play in the waves. Zoey isn't a velcro dog, but she does like to keep her people in sight. She is content to do her own thing nearby rather than always stay underfoot. She's crate and potty trained, knows basic commands, and "crates up" like a champ when asked. She'd be perfectly happy as an only dog since she's so devoted to her people, but she'd would also love to have a canine sibling or a family of kids eager to play with her. Though not excessively vocal, typical for her breed, Zoey does have a fairly loud protective bark. We think she will do best with a bit of space and ideally a fenced yard. We are not considering apartments for Zoey at this time. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
