Well, hello! Mama here.

I was quiet when I arrived, but now I follow my people everywhere—I'm learning that love means staying close, and I'm ready to bloom in a calm home where we can watch TV together under soft blankets.

My notes say I'm a world-class cuddler, and I'd like that on the record.

I'm a seasoned soul, which is a fancy way of saying I've perfected the art of the afternoon nap and the grateful sigh.

I've been holding down the fort in Kennesaw, hoping someone like you would wander by.

About Mama

Mama is a sweet and gentle hound mix, approximately 8 years old and 46 pounds. She arrived at the shelter withdrawn but has blossomed in her foster home, gaining confidence and now seeking affection, following her foster around, and playing comfortably in her surroundings. Mama gets along very well with the calm older dog in her foster home, showing care and attentiveness to him, and she is also doing well with the cat there. She has an energy level of 5–7 now that she feels comfortable, is calm in cars, has excellent house manners and will quietly go to the door when she needs to potty, and is beginning to enjoy stuffed toys. Mama loves soft blankets, sunbathing, and watching television, but she is sensitive to loud noises and prefers a patient, gentle approach as she adjusts to new situations; she would do best with a family willing to give her time and kindness to continue her progress. She is current on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed, though she has tartar on her teeth and should have a dental cleaning discussed with a veterinarian.
