About Atlas
Atlas is a gentle, sensitive hound mix approximately 5 years old and 47 pounds who would benefit from gaining a little weight. Initially shy, he blossoms with patience and calm reassurance, growing more confident each day as he learns he is safe and loved. Atlas knows commands including "down," "stay," "come," and "place," has excellent house manners, and enjoys walks, hikes, car rides, gentle petting, belly rubs, and playing with toys. He does well with other dogs and would enjoy a canine companion; he met respectful children around 10 years old in his foster home and played well with them, though a calm household without toddlers or very loud or rambunctious children would suit him best. Atlas should not be left unattended in unfenced yards as he can jump or scale a 6-foot open kennel, and cats are unknown. He is current on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered; he has moderate tartar on his teeth and takes a daily probiotic for digestion.
