Meet Duncan! Duncan is a gentle male hound who is looking for a patient, loving heart to help him write his next chapter. Duncan is a sweet, quiet soul who hasn't had the easiest start in life. He is naturally timid and shy, preferring to observe the world from a safe distance before diving in. However, he recently underwent a much-needed dental procedure that has completely changed his world. Now that he is free from chronic pain, his true personality is beginning to shine. Day by day, he is learning what it means to be a cherished pet and is becoming beautifully accustomed to the comforts of home life. His Perfect Match The Routine: Duncan is fully house-trained and loves to take leash walks, making his daily care easy and enjoyable. The Social Scene: He is incredibly friendly with other animals and gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, making him a great fit for a home with existing calm pets. His Sanctuary: He loves having his own quiet space and thrives when curled up on a soft, comfy bed. Because the world can still feel a bit overwhelming to him, Duncan needs a quiet household with an adopter who understands that trust takes time. He won't be a dog that rushes to the door to greet strangers right away, but once he knows he is safe, his loyalty is absolute. If you have a calm environment and plenty of love to give, watching this resilient hound blossom into your loyal companion will be the most rewarding journey you will ever take. Duncan is heartworm positive. He can be adopted during treatment if his adopter is local to Tampa Bay and is willing to transport him to his vet appointment.
