Breed

Hey, friend! Rocket here.

I'm a seventy-pound gentle soul who'd rather nap than rush—give me time to trust you, then I'll show you my soft heart.

Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.

I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that scare you off — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.

Born and (almost) raised right here in Oakland.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Halloween — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.

Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Rocket

About Rocket

Rocket – Gentle, Sensitive, and Sweet Rocket is an adult Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 71 pounds. Despite his name, this handsome boy is a quiet, sensitive soul who prefers to take a wee bit of time getting comfortable with new people and surroundings. A gentle walking companion: Rocket trots along nicely beside you with very little pulling, making him a pleasant partner for relaxed walks. Sweet once he settles in: After getting comfortable, Rocket alternates between exploring and coming back to his person for treats and gentle pets, gradually revealing his affectionate side. Exceptionally gentle: He takes treats very politely and sometimes responds to "sit." He enjoys quiet connection and seems happiest when given the time and space to build trust. Sensitive and observant: Rocket notices sounds and activity around him and may be startled by crowds or very barky dogs, but settles nicely with calm, reassuring vocal engagement. Rocket would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with appropriate dog friends.
