About Skip

Animal Information: Skip got his name because of the things that make him a little different. He was born with deformed back legs, and doesn't have paws. Skip is estimated to be around 10 months old and was living on a property in Yakima with more than 30 other dogs. Our rescue partners were in the area for a spay and neuter clinic when Skip and his brother Pogo were brought in. Without rescue placement, they would have been altered and released simply because there is not enough space in their local shelter. We knew we could help, so Pogo and Skip are now making their way across the state to Dog Gone Seattle. Despite never having been inside a home, both boys are able to be handled. They are shy and understandably unsure of the world, but they are incredibly sweet. They are going to need plenty of patience, TLC and someone willing to give them the time they need to learn what it means to be a dog in a home. These boys have spent their lives simply surviving. Now they get the chance to thrive. Foster Profile: Skip is a sweet boy who would love to cuddle with you and chew on his toys. He is adjusting very well to life here, his little back nubs don't keep him from enjoying a full life. He enjoys hanging out with the resident dog in his home and would be happy with a fur companion in his new home as well -- he can be nervous around new things gs but recovers pretty easily and another balanced dog in the home would help him feel more confident. He is crate trained and does well on a leash and has been great with all the people he has met. Skip enjoys lounging but is also a curious pup-- sort of a cat-dog in the best way. He would love to be part of a family that can see his potential and not limitations. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, heartworm test if indicated, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
