Hi, new friend! Dolly and Patsy in TN here.

I'm a long-coated lady with a penchant for yard sprints and my petite daughter in tow—we're a package deal, naturally, and we'd rather not discuss leash training just yet.

They wrote that I love to play. Understatement. I'd hike, fetch, and nap with you, in that order.

I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.

I'm a Shelbyville local, just waiting on the right person.

Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.

Who knows — by Halloween I might be napping on somebody's couch. I'd love it to be near you, one way or another.

Anyway, thank you for reading all the way to the end. Not everyone does, and I noticed. — Dolly and Patsy in TN

Several dogs were surrendered to us that day, but Dolly and Patsy just have to stay together. They love each other, play together, and sleep together, though they cannot eat together (Patsy eats with a slow bowl; Dolly eats slowly). They do everything together, and we just could not separate them, so if you are looking for a pair/instant family, you have found them. They are both happy and friendly; it might take a minute for them to warm up, but not much longer than that. They love playing with toys and seeing what trouble they can get into, so pick up anything that falls on the floor because it will be theirs. They love doing zoomies in the fenced yard in the morning and running in and out of the house; it would be great if you had a doggie door. If you want these two to be yours, fill out the online application and select their names from the drop-down box. Our must-haves for this dynamic duo include: A fenced yard Someone who is home more often than not If you have another dog, then he/she must be 3 years and under since both these ladies love to play No apartment, high-rises, or condos (anything with shared walls) Active family ONLY, as they are not couch potatoes If you decide to adopt these two and you are approved, this will be the best thing that has happened and will happen in your life. They will give you years of enjoyment, fun, and laughter! ============== Information for All Dogs/Adopters ============== AADR does not recommend dachshunds for families with children under 5, or families planning to have children during the dog's lifetime. Dachshunds are often not patient with little kids, and kids can accidentally hurt a dachshund's back or get bitten. If you have questions about this dog, please feel free to contact the foster home at the email address listed on the bio form. They have the most up-to-date information concerning the dog and would be happy to answer any questions about the animal. We cannot adopt into CT, RI, NH, ME, or MA due to strict laws regarding importation of dogs into those states. If you have any issue with this, you will need to take this up with your legislatures. To understand the adoption process through AADR, please review the Adoption Information on our home page. Transportation options are outlined on that page in Step 3. Click this link to apply: https://www.allamericandachshundrescue.org/apply, it will take you to the application form. Please don't let the distance stand in your way of finding your newest best friend. We have volunteers who will help your "new friend" get up and down the East Coast or Midwest. We just can't get them from one coast to the other. Please look for dogs on your coast.
