Hi, new friend! Ivy here.
Shepherd brains over here: I learn fast, notice everything, and would love a person with a plan.
I'm the calm one (it's in writing). A quiet home and a patient hand and I'm yours.
I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.
I'm on the bigger side — which, if you ask me, is just more of me to hug.
Born and (almost) raised right here in SKOKIE.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Thanksgiving — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Ivy

About Ivy
Meet Ivy! Ivy is a sweet, approximately one-year-old German Shepherd who was rescued from Will County Animal Control. She can be a little shy when she first meets someone, but once she feels comfortable, her gentle and loving personality shines through. Ivy does well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine playmate in her forever home. She is housebroken and does well in her crate. She is still working on her leash skills and basic commands, so her new family should be willing to continue her obedience training and help her build confidence. Ivy is a young girl with so much potential who is looking for a patient, loving family that will give her the time and guidance she needs to blossom. With a little training and plenty of love, Ivy will make a wonderful companion. If interested in adopting Ivy, complete an application at www.gsrescue1.org Please note applicants must be within 2 hours of Chicago.
