Good morning! Doug here.
Small, floofy, and pretty sure I was royalty in a past life. Treat accordingly.
My notes say I'm a world-class cuddler, and I'd like that on the record.
I've been holding down the fort in Las Vegas, hoping someone like you would wander by.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
With a little luck, Thanksgiving could be my first one in a real home — possibly with you, or with someone you send my way.
Thanks for spending a minute with me. I'll be right here, tail ready, hoping it's you. — Doug

About Doug
Meet Doug — a true little survivor ready for his happily-ever-after! Doug is a 2-year-old male Shih Tzu whose story is nothing short of inspiring. He came to us from a shelter when his life was hanging in the balance — a matted, neglected little boy with severe ear and skin infections. His ears were painfully infected, his coat was a tangled mess, and his body showed signs of past hardship, including numerous scabs. One of his eyes had never fully developed, leaving him essentially blind on that side. We wasted no time getting him the care he desperately needed. After thorough veterinary treatment, careful grooming to free him from his mats, and successful surgery (including neutering and removal of the undeveloped eye), Doug is finally turning a corner. He's recovering beautifully and blossoming into the happy, playful dog he was always meant to be. Today, Doug is full of personality! He loves playing with toys, gets along wonderfully with other dogs, and is an early riser ready to start each day with enthusiasm. Like all Shih Tzus, he'll need regular grooming to keep that soft coat healthy and comfortable — a small price to pay for the joy he brings. Doug has already overcome so much. Now he's simply looking for a patient, loving forever home that will give him the stability, care, and affection he so richly deserves. If you're ready to welcome a resilient little guy with a big heart into your life, Doug is waiting to meet you! Adoption fee is $400 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older
