Hi, new friend! Marlene here.
I'm a hound, so I come with a built-in soundtrack and an honorary degree in sniffing.
Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.
I won't fib — there's a little grey on my muzzle. "Older" just means I'm past the wild puppy chaos and all in on cozy company.
I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that scare you off — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Kennesaw.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Thanksgiving — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — Marlene

About Marlene
A SWEET HARD OF HEARING FRIEND: Approx. 12 years old / Approx. 17 lbs. Hi, I'm Marlene! I came to Mostly Mutts when I found myself in need of a new home and family. I'm glad to be here and am enjoying my time in a wonderful foster home while I wait to meet my new family. Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new calm and gentle furry family member! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: Though I came in with another dog, I didn't like the dogs I met at Mostly Mutts, so if you have a calm dog at home, let's meet and see if we can be friends. / Cats unknown. / I haven't met kids yet, but if you have gentle kids that know how to be respectful to a dog that can't hear well, let's meet and best no very young kids that may be too active for me. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I'm a super sweet, friendly girl and a complete lap and snuggle buddy! I love being close to my people and will happily follow you around the house because I'd much rather be wherever you are than spend too much time by myself. I'd do especially well with someone who works from home or isn't gone for long hours, since I really enjoy having my people nearby. I was a little leery of my foster dad at first, but with a little time and patience, I've really warmed up to him, so I may just need some extra time to feel comfortable with men. My hearing is very diminished, so I won't hear you coming or calling me, but I'll make up for it with all the love I have to give! I'll need my people to help keep me safe and be mindful of my limited hearing, and in return, I'll be your devoted little shadow and snuggle buddy. / Energy level: 1-3. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I don't seem to know any commands, but Mostly Mutts offers free lifetime training classes for all their adopted dogs, so we could try some classes if you like, or we could just be happy together and not worry about commands. / My crate manners are good in my foster home. / I'm doing pretty well with my potty manners, though you should expect some accidents that I don't have control over, but it's much better now that I'm on a medication called Proin which helps with this—just ask how it's going. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love being in your lap and staying close to my people! Soft blankets are a favorite, especially when I can curl up on one beside you. I enjoy being loved on, getting lots of attention, and spending time with my people—I'm happiest when I'm right by your side. I'm definitely a lap dog at heart! I'm sure we'll discover lots more things we like doing together in our new home! / I'm not a fan of being alone in my foster home and I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention and good care. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I've just had a dental cleaning and several teeth pulled, so my mouth is healthy again. I'm on an inexpensive over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin which is good for all older dogs. I'm also on a prescription medication called Proin twice a day which helps with incontinence and it's helping a lot! I should stay on this for life. I'm a wonderfully sweet senior girl looking for a family that will treasure me and give me a wonderful life during my senior years. My adoption fee is $100.00 and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
