Forever Home Wanted: Meet Huckleberry! When Huckleberry first arrived to our rescue in 2024, he was emaciated, undersocialized, and unsure of the world around him. With time, patience, and love, our volunteers have helped him blossom into the sweet, goofy boy he is today. Huckleberry is a 6-year-old Labrador/Great Dane mix—a big, sensitive guy with an even bigger heart. He can be shy when meeting new people and may let out a bark or two, but once he knows you're a friend, get ready for cuddles, loyalty, and plenty of laughs. He walks great with other dogs and enjoys hanging out and playing with a few of his rescue buddies. He's highly treat-motivated and eager to please, which makes training both easy and rewarding. When Huckleberry trusts you, his affectionate and goofy side shines—he loves fetch, being by your side, and looking handsome 24/7 (a full-time job, he'll have you know). At night, this big boy likes his bedtime routine—he's ready to turn in around 8 p.m. sharp, and if you wake him up, it better be for something important!
