Oh, hello you! Yumi here.
I'm a dignified soul who happens to snore like a broken accordion and live for belly rubs—find me a patient human and I'll show you what loyalty actually means.
Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.
Born and (almost) raised right here in St. Paul.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Labor Day — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Anyway, thank you for reading all the way to the end. Not everyone does, and I noticed. — Yumi

About Yumi
Yumi is a 2.5-year-old Bulldog mix who is eager to explore the world around her! Weighing in at 50 lbs, she is a sweet and energetic, wants nothing more than to be close to her humans, and makes the silliest noises when she's sleeping or sniffing on a walk. She is house-trained, crate-trained, and makes for a great roommate because of how she loves to lounge and snuggle—especially when belly rubs are involved!—and isn't noisy when left alone. Whether it’s hanging out together at home or heading out for a quiet sniff walk, Yumi thrives when she feels connected to her person. She is currently in training and working hard on important life skills like calmness, self-control, leash walking, and more polite household manners. She’s a smart dog who enjoys learning and responds well to positive reinforcement training. However, if pressured too hard too soon by men, she may show some fearfulness. This was something reported by her first foster home.Yumi has a fun, playful side with her people and enjoys engaging games and interaction. At the same time, she’s learning that relaxing and settling are valuable skills too. She loves sniff-heavy walks for mental enrichment, leisurely neighborhood strolls, food puzzles and enrichment toys, and training games that engage her brain.Yumi has been friendly with other dogs earlier in her life, but she has recently had some struggles with dogs in a previous foster home. This may be related to discomfort from her hind leg pain, which can understandably make a dog less patient. Because of this, we are currently prioritizing a calm, structured environment and proper introductions with other dogs. She cannot live in a home with cats.Yumi will thrive with a family committed to continuing her training in a calm, structured household. She has a lot of love to give and is putting in the work to become the best version of herself. With the right person guiding her, she will be a perfect companion! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450.
