Psst… hi! Caspian here.
I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and a few zoomies) saved up for the right person.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Caspian 🐾
The rescue’s notes on Caspian
Caspian is a 1 yr old beagle. He started his life in a research facility. Born into this life. These dogs are not treated as loving adorable puppies who thrive and learn as they grow. these dogs are ripped away from their moms as soon as they can be. (at this lab, we found sometimes as young as 5 weeks) and sold into research. Many of these dogs stayed on site and were tested on there. The animal advocates were able to put a spotlight on Ridglan farms and the public's outcry ultimately helped save these dogs from this life. Caspian was among many that we took. These dogs knew nothing of sunshine, of cuddling, of play. They were not given normal food even and had to learn to chew and drink water out of a bowl. They are slowly learning to be a dog; to have fun playing with others, to receive love, to house train and walk on a leash. Caspian is a very loving dog who will take some time to trust and patience as he learns. You must have an existing dog in the house. If you do not, you will automatically be disqualified from adopting a research dog. They need a dog to show them the way. A younger dog might be more helpful for Caspian as he is young. He is eating more consistently and is about 60% house trained. He is learning to play and does pretty well on leash. He still gets some motion sickness and does have a sensitive stomach as he is adjusting to new foods and supplements. These dogs spook and startle easy and are not well suited for toddlers who often are unpredictable with sound and movement. Adoption fee is $550 which helps cover all of the medical for all of the dogs in the rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated and micro chipped and many have received further treatment for such conditions as lump removal, severe ear infections, dental cleanings, bloodwork, leg injuries, etc.. We do out of state adoptions but require a submitted application, a home visit (sometimes we cannot get this done and then we can not adopt), and the adopter must come to Las Vegas to meet the potential dog(s), possibly adopt, and then drive the dog back. Disclaimer: The SNBRF has the right to deny applications based on our adoption policies established for the consideration of the health, safety, and well-being of the dog. Beagles can have a lifespan of 15-18 years. Therefore, beagles or any other breed who are under 3 years of age will NOT be adopted to anyone over the age of 62. For individuals who are 70 years of age and older, the dogs must be 8 years or older
