I'm a two-pound dog trapped in a fifteen-pound body, and I'm cool with that—mostly because I'm too lazy to care.

About Pickles
Animal Information: Pickles was listed as a 2-year-old male Chihuahua mix that was overweight at 15 lbs. Pickles' owner passed away and he was surrendered to the shelter with a small pack of dogs. The shelter staff are big fans of Pickles -- apparently he is a dilly big deal! He is affectionate and friendly with everyone he meets, and other than being a little overweight, he doesn't seem to have any quirks to work on. Pickles needed a dental, and during the procedure our vet discovered he had a heart murmur. He was able to do the dental under light anesthesia without any complications, but it is something to be aware of. Foster Profile: We quickly realized Pickles was actually about 6 years old, he needed a dental, and to loose some weight. Luckily he is getting in lots of good walks with his foster mama, and he weighed in at 11.9 lbs as of 7/17. He is still working on his bikini bod, but with continued exercise and a good quality diet, the weight will continue to come off. Pickles lives with other dogs and cats and gets along well with everyone. He might give a grumble if someone tries to steal the lap he is on, but he's easily corrected with a verbal "no". Pickles would do well in almost any home, as an only pet or with other canine and/or feline companions. He is a lap dog through and through. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $400 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
