Hey, friend! RILEY here.
I'm a chill Lab who loves a good snooze, knows my sits, and thrives with older kids, other dogs, and cats—just need a home where my space gets respected.
Word is I'm a championship snuggler. I don't like to brag, but the notes don't lie.
I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and the occasional zoomie) saved up for the right person.
Born and (almost) raised right here in Statesville.
Here's the thing — I can't tell if we'd truly click until I know a little about you. Sign in (it's free) and I'll size up your place, say hello to any dogs you've got — or be your very first — and give you my honest read on whether we'd be a match.
If all goes well, I could be curled up with my new pack by Labor Day — maybe yours, whether you adopt me or just help me get noticed.
Either way, thank you for seeing me today. That part mattered more than you know. — RILEY
About RILEY
Adopted from ICAS eight short months ago, 11 month old Riley comes back as an owner surrender- this after an incident involving his familyâs 3 year old child. His family let us know they had told the child multiple times to get out of Rileyâs face, but after seeing this, they made the hard decision to surrender him to us in hopes of finding him a more suitable home and to keep their small child safe. His previous family also made sure to let us know that Riley is great with older children, other dogs and even with cats! They told us that his best qualities are that he is very good and is a friendly boy. He knows sit, is both housebroken AND crate trained and is ready for family life again! GOOD BOY!! He has met a similar in size spayed female since his arrival and was super sweet, going up and sniffing her nose, giving sweet little licks! She was a little shy otherwise, but he did amazing! Such a sweet boy! He loves cuddles and will climb into a lap in a heartbeat, given any opportunity, to get as many cuddles as he can! We always recommend meet and greets with other dogs and children prior to adoption to ensure a great fit for all, and Riley will be required to go to a home with NO small children. All of our adoptable dogs/puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and UTD on all age-appropriate vaccines/preventatives. Adopters will need to establish vet care upon adopting to maintain their new family memberâs health and wellness. And remember the 3-3-3 Rule when adopting a shelter pet. 3 days for your new pet to decompress3 weeks for your new family member to settle in3 months for them to build trustRileyâs adoption fee is only 40Please bring a collar and leash OR purchase a combo from us for only $15 to safely take your new family member home.
