Special needs: Bad skin treatment & almost blind
Well, hello! Lexie here.
I won't fib — I've got a little grey on my muzzle. But being older just means I'm past the wild puppy stuff and all about cozy company and slow, happy mornings.
I do come with a few special needs, but please don't let that worry you — I just need a patient friend, and I pay it back tenfold.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. The rescue’s notes on Lexie
Medical Grant Funded (see below) Sweet girl Lexi was dumped on the side of the road. She has calluses on her underside and hind area. She must have been living outside for quite a while. She was missing most of her fur as well. She is healing and looking so much better! She is 10+ years old and almost fully blind. She gets around great though and is friendly as can be! She loves her people and is housebroken and quiet! She gets along very well with other dogs. She is gentle and calm and quiet. She is a prize! ** Exciting news! ** Thanks to the generosity of the Petfinder Foundation sweet Lexie has been selected for a Senior Pet Adoption Grant! Funds from this grant will be used to assist a new family with Lexie's future medical care after she finds a forever home. If you are interested in her, please send an email to us! Applications can be found on our website at secondchancepets.org under the "Forms" tab. Please complete and return to us for review! All dogs typically show on Saturdays at the Petco in Clear Lake as well. 2410 Bay Area Blvd near Space Center. Adopter for this dog must reside in the immediate Houston/Galveston area and be at least 25 years old. A home visit may be required prior to this dog going to any home. The adoption fee for a dog is $210 (or $270 for puppies). All dogs are microchipped, on heartworm protection, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and treated for fleas.
