LOBO
German Shepherd Dog · Senior · Male · Large
Camarillo, CA
Hi there! LOBO here.
I won't fib — I've got a little grey on my muzzle. But being older just means I'm past the wild puppy stuff and all about cozy company and slow, happy mornings.
I'm on the bigger side — but honestly, that's just more of me to hug.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — LOBO 🐾
The rescue’s notes on LOBO
Lobo has been with us since July 2025 and has truly won the hearts of volunteers. He is consistently described as easy to leash, fun to walk, and a joy to spend time with. Lobo loves playing fetch, splashing in the pool, and going on long sniffy walks. He knows some basic cues, takes treats gently, and often seeks out affection. Many volunteers call him their favorite. He recently enjoyed a field trip to the beach, and to lunch where he was very well behaved, and ignored other dogs on the Lazy Dog patio! He is on our Call to Action List because despite his adorable qualities, he hasn't found his happy-ever-after. He does have behavior that may be challenging in an average adoptive home.Lobo previously spent a month in foster care, where he did so well at first but later began showing challenges with listening and responding to corrections. In a few instances, he snapped and even charged when he wouldn't get off furniture when asked and they tried to guide him by the collar, resulting in minor bites that made contact but with no injuries. These moments suggest that Lobo may struggle with handling that feels confrontational or it may have been related to guarding of resources. He did not display any food or toy guarding in this foster home. He's going to need a home without young children and someone who is willing to work through these possible challenges. We've tried everything we can possibly think of to safely find this dog a match, but no one has stepped up for him yet. We've posted him multiple times on social media, sent rescue pleas, begged fosters and volunteers to take him home for a second foster experience so we can really assess whether his first foster experience really is reflective of his personality, or if he actually is easier to live with now. We're begging for an adopter, foster, or rescue!!!Please reach out ASAP.
