The rescue’s notes on Heidi

Heidi our new 1 year old red female dobie where her love and compassion know no bounds. This sweet girl made the journey all the way from Texas to find her fresh start with us. Naturally quiet and a bit shy at first, Heidi takes a little time to trust—but once she does, she blossoms into an affectionate, loving companion who happily soaks up pets and attention. With limited exposure to the world so far, everything is still new to her, so patience and gentle guidance will help her continue to grow in confidence. Heidi rides well in the car after a few minutes to settle and walks nicely on leash. She gets along wonderfully with the dogs she's met, and her foster family has even been working with her on polite manners around kitties. She is doing well with being crated and is fully house broke. Her recall is improving nicely, and she responds well to positive, reward-based training—routine and consistency will be key to her success. Heidi loves her toys, chewies, and babies, and she's more than ready to give her whole heart to a family willing to offer patience, structure, and lots of love. She is always found snuggled on a couch or bed with someone and she takes treats very gently. She has a huge heart and is waiting for the soft couch or fluffy bed to call her own. Our foster families are generally located within a 250 mile radius of Minneapolis, MN. All DRM dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, health checked, microchipped, 4DX tested, and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention.
