The rescue’s notes on Bear

Bear is young, handsome, energetic boy. He's a total sweetheart who is very friendly with people and other dogs. He loves to run, play (especially wrestle), and splash around in water. But most importantly, Bear needs a home. Bear is about a year old and weighs 63 pounds. We believe he may be a Lab/ German Shepherd mix. Personality: energetic, friendly, playful, affectionate Good with: people, and dogs Estimated age: 1 year Weight: 63.7 pounds Medical: vetted, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped w/lifetime registration Location: Currently with a foster in Texas, but if adopted, will come to the NJ area on our next monthly transport. Background: Bear was dumped in a cemetery in rural Texas. He was just sitting there day in, day out, all alone. He was picked up by Animal Control and brought to the shelter - a shelter that fills up quickly, and no one ever adopts the dogs from there. When it came time to make room for new dogs, the killing was about to start. We were lucky that we were able to save 6 dogs from there, including this sweet boy. The best fit will for Bear will be with an active owner who enjoys walking, hiking, etc. He would do best in a house with a fenced yard so he can run, and we think older kids are probably better (just because he might knock young kids over due to his size).
