The rescue’s notes on Mia

Mia is a precious 18 month old English Setter who is looking for a patient, loving, and active home to call her own. Mia's rescue journey started in a Texas shelter. Her energy level is typical for a young field ES; she has a medium-to-high drive and absolutely loves outdoor exploration. Mia has blossomed since arriving at her foster home, blending a strong love for outdoor fun with the sweet, affectionate heart of a companion. Mia is a bit timid and unsure at times; but has an independent streak and thrives best in a peaceful, quiet environment. Mia has a very sweet, endearing personality. She is an independent explorer who loves being outside, but she has the sweetest habit of regularly trotting back inside just to check in and make sure her people are still there. Once she knows she is safe and secure, her true loving personality shines! She is active, happy, and loves to team hunt for bugs and squirrels in the backyard with her foster siblings. Mia is incredibly social with other dogs and currently gets along famously with two 5-year-old female setters. While she loves her outdoor playtime, Mia appreciates her quiet time and prefers a household on the calmer side. Because she thrives in a peaceful environment, she would do best in a home with adults or older kids and at least 1 other dog to help show her the ropes. She learns quickly and seems to like routine. Cats are unknown. Mia's house manners are excellent. She handles a standard workday schedule like a champ, staying safely and comfortably gated in a specific area of the house when her foster family is out. At night, she sleeps beautifully and soundly inside her crate. She also highly enjoys the luxury of lounging on the furniture for long cuddle sessions after a good play session in the yard. Mia will thrive in an active yet peaceful household with a secure, physical fenced yard (minimum 6 feet) where she can safely patrol and sniff to her heart's content. She would be a wonderful fit for someone looking for a young, affectionate setter who beautifully balances independent outdoor fun with loyal indoor snuggles. Mia is fully vetted, spayed, microchipped, and ready to find her perfect forever match!
