Special needs: [YELLOW]Background: Found as a stray and followed the person home on 4/2/26. Finder said he was friendly with his dogs and him, but when the dog got released to ACA he started to owner seek. Blue dot at intake d/t alligator rolling on leash and unable to do intake. He has been attending shelter playgroup. Crew volunteers have been working with him and recommend that he graduate to Yellow.B O: Yellow volunteer observations: Dog was pacing in the kennel. Approached the door for treats, lured through the loop with treats. Easy to walk. Volunteer noted dog was vigilant, startled at a loud noise and pulled to the end of the leash. Off leash in the yard, dog stood at the fence and looked out. Approached volunteer for treats, taken gently. Soft face and body language throughout handling. Ignored toys. Easy to re-leash in the yard. Pulled moderately through the hallway. Hesitant to return to kennel but followed volunteer inside. Dog has been affiliative with playgroup volunteers in the yard.B A: Yellow volunteer level handling. Dog is very environmentally sensitive. Treat motivated, medium energy, seems more comfortable interacting with people when in the company of other dogs.B P:Adopters should be dog experienced since he will need support to integrate into a home. Would likely prefer a quiet home with experience working with sensitive/shy dogs, and with another confident dog in the home.
