Well, hello! OLIVE here.
I've got a feeling you and I could be pretty great together.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — OLIVE 🐾
The rescue’s notes on OLIVE
Olive is one of those dogs you don't forget once you meet her. She's a sweet Hound mix, approximately 6–8 years old and around 25 pounds — the perfect small-to-medium companion with a calm, easy presence and just enough spark to keep life interesting. Her story started in an unexpected way — imagine driving down a rural country road when two "walking Halloween decorations" emerge from the brush. That was Olive and Benjamin. Today, Olive has left uncertainty behind her and is learning what it feels like to feel safe, loved, and confident. She used to be shy and unsure, but daily walks have helped her blossom. She is now gaining confidence step by step, and continued walks will be an important part of keeping her on that positive path forward. Olive is intelligent, gentle, and eager to please. She is crate trained and working hard on her house manners. She walks well on a harness and enjoys being out and about, though her hound nose can still get very excited when squirrels appear — so a secure leash is a must. Important note: Olive has a strong prey drive and must go to a cat-free home. She is not a high-maintenance dog — instead, she's the kind of companion who fits beautifully into a quieter lifestyle. A fenced yard would be a bonus, but she can also do just fine with regular leash walks and supervision. At the end of the day, Olive is a couch companion at heart. She's happiest simply being near her person, sharing space, and enjoying a calm, steady home life. She would be a wonderful match for a retiree, empty nester, or anyone looking for a loyal, low-drama companion who just wants to be part of your world.
