Meet Kota! Kota is a 4-year-old petite Husky mix who proves that big things really do come in small packages. But beneath her clever antics is a friendly, social dog who genuinely enjoys both people and other dogs. She can be a little forward when making new friends, enthusiastically rushing in to say hello, but her intentions are playful and affiliative. Once introductions are made, she's happy to engage in play or continue exploring her surroundings. Kota is an active girl who loves to stay busy. She enjoys investigating every corner of the yard, taking in all the sights and smells, and finding new ways to entertain herself. She'll need an adopter who can provide plenty of exercise, enrichment, and mental stimulation to keep her busy and happy. True to her Husky heritage, Kota is independent and confident. She's affectionate on her own terms and enjoys interacting with people, though she's often just as happy exploring the world around her. She may occasionally jump up when excited, but she remains friendly and social throughout. Because of her intelligence and escape abilities, Kota's future home must be prepared. A standard backyard fence may not be enough for this clever girl. She will require a secure kennel run with a roof and secure locking mechanisms whenever unsupervised outdoors. She has repeatedly demonstrated that she can climb, unlatch, and open barriers that stop most dogs. Kota isn't looking for an ordinary home—she's looking for a teammate who can match her intelligence, channel her energy, and laugh at her clever antics along the way. For the right person, she'll be an incredibly rewarding companion and a constant source of entertainment.
