Please apply online at http://texasgreatdane.org/adoption-application/ ** Meet Caleb! Caleb is a handsome 18-month-old Beagle/Jack Russell Terrier mix weighing approximately 14 pounds. This little guy is full of personality, with a sweet temperament and a playful, active spirit that will keep you smiling every day. Caleb does great in a kennel, plays well with other dogs, and appears to be housebroken. One of his cutest features is his adorable little nub tail — and when he gets excited, his entire hind end wiggles with happiness! Caleb has been diagnosed with heartworm infection. Dogs become infected with heartworms through the bite of an infected mosquito, and heartworm disease is unfortunately very common in many parts of the United States. The good news is that dogs with heartworm infection can continue to live happy, high-quality lives while receiving proper care and treatment. Caleb is currently on the slow-kill heartworm treatment protocol, and adopters will receive all necessary medications needed to complete his treatment. He is looking for a caring family willing to give him the love and support he deserves during this process. We believe heartworm-positive dogs have just as much love, joy, and companionship to offer as any other dog — and Caleb is no exception. He is ready to wiggle his way right into your heart and home! Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 10+ years or more.) You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. His adoption fee is $150. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccination, Nobivac® Intra-Trac 3 vaccination, Drontal® Plus, IDEXX SNAP® 4Dx Plus Test, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar. Our adoption events are held every other Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232.
