Special needs: [YELLOW]Background: Seized on 5/24/26. Blue dot on intake. Intake staff noted two people were present for intake, but no handling issues noted. B First time meeting handler on 6/11/26. Has meet second handler several times. O: At the front of the kennel, tapping feet and wagging tail. Easy to leash. Strong pulling on leash down the hallway, trying to run on leash. Eliminated x2 in the yard. Approached both handlers with fully relaxed body, wagging tail. Relaxed open mouth. Sat down when asked. Took treats gently. Chased tossed toys and picked them up in his mouth. Chewed on a tennis ball. Ran around with playful, relaxed body language. Relaxed and wiggly body language for all over pets, including for teeth check. Approximately 2 years old by teeth. B Moderate pulling back to kennel. Walked ahead of handler into kennel. Took a treat gently. No issues rekenneling. A: Very affiliative. Medium to high energy. Knows basic commands (sit and touch) and is attentive to handler. Possibly house trained (i.e., holds it). Is strong and pulls quite hard on leash. Shows enjoyment with pets. Very playful with handlers. Treat motivated. Yellow for in-shelter handling d/t strong pulling on leash. P: Make available for adoption. Dog may be a good fit for a variety of homes and may do well with older dog-savvy kids as he is social and playful. His size may make home with young children less suitable. Recommend adopters provide patient rewards-based obedience training and continue basic manners (leash skills, recall).B [2026-06-11 19:27:00.000]

Bucky – Playful, Smart, and Always Ready for Fun Bucky is a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier mix weighing 53 pounds with an enthusiastic personality, a playful spirit, and a love for interacting with his people. Energetic adventurer: Bucky can pull hard initially, especially when eager to take care of business outside, but settles into milder leash manners as the outing continues. Toy and fetch enthusiast: Fetch is one of his favorite activities and happily retrieves and trades his ball for treats. He is also content hugging or chewing calmly on his toys. Smart and eager to learn: Bucky knows "sit" and "touch", is working on "down". He has even practiced beginner agility skills, walking up and down a picnic bench. Affectionate and people-focused: He loves leaning against them for pets and attention. While he can become mildly excited, he redirects easily. He is treat motivated, and takes snacks gently. Bucky would do best with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home.
