Special needs: [YELLOW]Background: Owner surrender due to housing loss. Lived w/ adults and teenagers, reported as "high energy". Given yellow dot on intake.B Handling: 5/31/26: Standing at front on approach, hesitant of leash and backed away initially, but came forward to allow large-loop leashing. Pulls to end of leash while walking, tail tucked, mouth closed. In small yard, sniffed handler, sniffed toys but no play currently. Allowed all over handling of head/body, including teeth check. Sought handler and leaned in several times while in yard. Did not take treats. Spent most of the time sniffing, then checking fence line of small yard. No issues rekenneling.A: Dog appears overwhelmed/anxious in shelter environment. may be owner-searching. Yellow level due to current fear/anxiety. Behavior likely shelter-related.P: Will do best in breed-experienced home with continued rewards-based training, allowing dog to dictate pace of interactions, and adopter familiar with adequate decompression time/processes. Quiet home ideal, dog may do okay with dog-savvy children over 13 y/o, though prior owner recommended adult-only home due to high energy.[2026-05-31 21:28:00.000]

Susy – Smart, Affectionate, and Full of Fun Susy is a 1-year-old Rottweiler weighing 64 pounds with a wonderful combination of intelligence, affection, and playful energy. Enthusiastic walking companion: Susy may pull a little on leash with puppy-like excitement and is working hard to polish her leash manners. Smart and eager to learn: She responds to cues such as "sit" and "down," and may also know "paw," showing off her clever and trainable nature. Playful personality: Susy loves chasing and pouncing on tennis balls. She has also been observed offering adorable play bows to people when she's feeling playful. Affectionate sweetheart: She frequently tries to climb into laps and enjoys staying near her favorite humans for attention and companionship. She has also played gently with other dogs in doggie playgroup. Susy would do well with appropriately matched dogs or as a solo dog with dog friends outside the home.
