Hi, new friend! Hector here.
I'm still young and full of beans, with a whole lot of love (and a few zoomies) saved up for the right person.
I'd love to meet you. But if I'm not quite the one, maybe you could do me one tiny favor — print my bio and pop it up somewhere a future best friend might spot it. Who knows, I might see you at the park someday! Either way, thank you for stopping by and giving me a moment. It really did mean a lot. — Hector 🐾
The rescue’s notes on Hector
A SHY, SWEET & HANDSOME FELLOW: Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 17 lbs. Hi, I'm Hector! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with a few other small dogs, and am enjoying my time with the nice volunteers, who spend time with and take great care of me. Now I hear that I'm ready to find a wonderful family of my very own – where I can love and be loved furever! I hope to meet them very soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and though I wasn't quite ready to play, I also didn't show any aggression. I get along well with other dogs I came in with, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let's meet! / Cats unknown. / I met two nice boys around 6 years old at Mostly Mutts and I was quite timid and avoided them, so kids 15+ may be a better match for me. Let's meet! • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I came in quite shy, but my confidence is growing more every day. I'm happy when I get to hang out in the Mostly Mutts play yard with the volunteers and another dog friend. I even gave a little kiss to a nice volunteer's hand that squatted down to talk to me. After some time together, I walked right over to the paw spa with my bather and, aside from being just a little nervous about walking into it, I did well for my bath and ear cleaning. I'm a sweet boy who's learning that the world can be a pretty nice place, especially when folks are kind, take it slowly with me and treat me gently. / Energy level: 4-6. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and look forward to learning a lot with my trainer! Check back soon to see what I've learned and let's continue my training with the free lifetime training classes that Mostly Mutts offers for all their adopted dogs! Keep a good hold of my little leash as I can be a bit of a flight risk initially, if something scares me, and I don't want to get lost. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / My potty manners have been good on the shelter schedule with a few accidents. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love cheese – so if I ever need medication, wrapping it in cheese is the perfect trick! I also enjoy following a dog friend on walks and really appreciate calm-natured volunteers who give me the extra time and patience I need to feel safe and secure. I've just discovered sunbathing and I like it! / I would not like to be in a very busy or loud household as I'm looking for a calmer lifestyle. I also wouldn't want to be rushed into new situations or relationships – a little time is key for me and like all dogs, I'm sure I wouldn't like it if I didn't get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I'm a sweet little guy looking for a calm-natured family to love and be loved by. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I'm located in Kennesaw, Ga.
